Process
The Waverley Council requires the lodgement of a petition showing community support for this name change. The council will only consider this proposal if sufficient support is shown. The council has indicated that for such a change to take place at least 75% of the community need to support the change.
Once it has been demonstrated that there is sufficient support from the community it would then be submitted by the Waverley council to the Geographical Names Board.
The Geographical Names Board will then make a final decision.
